How To Put a Guitar Strap Together (Basic)

Interweave guitar straps (AKA ladder straps) are a simple but clever design. There's no metal parts to dink your guitar, and you get lots of room for adjustment too. If you are having trouble working out how to put one together, then you've come to the right place.

An interweave strap comes in two parts - the main strap and the tail piece. Follow these steps to put them together.

STEP 1: Put the small end of the tail piece into a slot at the back of the main strap. Choose a slot somewhere near the first of the row.

STEP 2: Pull the tail piece through until its wide end lines up with a slot further down the main strap.

STEP 3: Now thread the end of the tail piece through that same slot in the main strap.

STEP 4: We're nearly there! Put the end of the tail piece through the slot in its other end.

STEP 5: Pull the tail piece through and flatten it against the main strap to make it neat. You will have to make some minor adjustments to make it flatten.

STEP 6: Finally you can weave the tail piece into any remaining slots to make it all neater.
